The Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (OSPRe) invites interested faculty, staff and students to join us for a series of grant writing workshops. The workshops will be led by Senior Grants Specialist Mary Bainbridge and OSPRe Director Steve Katsikas. This workshop series will take place virtually and a recording of each session will be made available on the OSPRe website. A full description of the series is available below.
In this first session, the OSPRe team provided an introduction to grant writing, including a high-level overview of the grant writing process from start to finish, how to seek out grant funders, proposal development, budgeting, and post-award tracking. This sessions is appropriate for first-time grant writers, or those seeking a refresher in grants management.
In this session we discussed how to find funding sources to meet your project/program needs and reviewed several search engines including grants.gov and Foundation Directory Online
This interactive workshop will explore the elements of proposal development, covering several common grant questions including: Statement of Need, Project Description, and Program Sustainability
This workshop will focus on budget development. The project budget is a key component of any grant application and should include all related expenses. We will discuss reasonable expenses, as well as common budget standards
Your proposal was approved! After celebrating, what’s next? In this session Courtney Clayborn from the Finance Office will join us to discuss the in’s and out’s of grant management, including financial management, required forms, and plans for reporting.
