Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I start the grant-writing process at Spalding?

A: Contact the OSPRe team to set up a meeting to discuss your project and plans.

Q: How much funding can I request for my project?

A: Project budgets should reflect all relevant and reasonable expenses to accomplish your goals. However, a project budget must also fall within the scope of your funder’s capacity. Many Requests for Application (RFP) will stipulate a maximum budget and you can access a list of a funder’s past awards on their website or via their 990 tax forms, found at Guidestar.org. Check out this page on budget preparation to learn more.

Q: How long does the grant-writing process take?

A: The amount of time it takes to prepare a grant application will vary by the size of the grant and funding agency. Most applications take between one and three months to write and additional time may be necessary for project planning. Always reach out to the OSPRe team as early as possible to allow plenty of time to identify funding sources, research, and prepare your application.
